My adventure in discovering the meaning of being an orthodox follower of Christ has been an interesting, exciting, and at times depressing pursuit. Amongst my most anguished and difficult questions of faith, it has nevertheless been the most gratifying adventure.
Before I begin posting on my many thoughts, ideas, doctrinal understandings, frustrations, and the like, I suppose I should present my purpose for setting up this blog. I desire to share my current understanding of God's Word and how my view of the world is dominated by it. There might only be 1 or 2 people in the world who may ever hear my words and that is quite alright.
I must immediately stop here and begin this all with the most appropriate method possible:
"My Master and Savior Jesus, I am eternally grateful for what you did on the cross. I thank You for the ability to learn from You and Your word and to live in a country that does not kill me for doing so. I pray that the theology I develop over the years will be honest and faithful to Your holy teachings. But above all else, allow Your teachings to deeply affect me in all the practical ways of love, gentleness, faithfulness, joy, peace, patience, goodness, kindness and self-control. Grant my little blog the ability to bring You great joy as I share my understanding of Your amazing ways to all who might read it. Amen."
